We understand that moving can be a whirlwind of excitement and stress, which is why we're here to ensure your transition into your new living space is as smooth as possible. This page is your comprehensive resource for everything you need to know leading up to and on move-in day. From essential paperwork to handy tips, we've got you covered.

Move-In Procedures

We're thrilled to welcome you to your new home! To ensure a hassle-free move-in experience, we've outlined a step-by-step guide to streamline the process. Take a look at the sections below to learn more about your move-in times, where to pick up keys, what you need to complete ahead of time to qualify for Fast Pass Move-In, and more.

What To Expect Move-in Day

1. If your contract begins on 08/19/2024, the earliest your apartment will be available for move-in is 08/19/2024.

2. If your contract begins on 08/20/2024, the earliest your apartment will be available for move-in is 08/20/2024.

Please arrive at The Metropolitan Parking Garage no earlier than 9:00 AM. When you arrive, please park within the line of vehicles (if any) on the street adjacent to the building’s main entrance. Move in times for your assigned floors are listed below.

1:00 pm - 3:00 pm 8th & 7th Floors
3:00 pm - 4:00 pm 6th & 5th Floors
4:00 pm - 5:00 pm 4th & 3rd Floors

Welcome to your move-in day! To ensure a smooth arrival process, please follow the steps shown on the map below. Our move-in map will guide you to the right place for your move-in. Simply follow the designated route and signage to reach your destination. If you have any questions or need assistance along the way, our friendly staff will be available to help.

1. Travel through the intersection of Atherton and College on the one-way avenue, obeying all traffic signs. Please do not block the intersection as this is a public road. You may have to circle the block and return to College Ave in order to find a place within the line of cars (if any).

2. When instructed by a member of our team, pull into the alley way to the right of the Metropolitan’s main entrance.

3. Make a left at the stop sign, where you will begin to enter The Metropolitan’s garage beneath the building.

4. Make a final left into the garage entrance where our team will greet you and get your keys. We will instruct you to park within an open parking space where our team will assist in unloading your vehicle. PLEASE limit to ONE car per resident.

5. Once our team has gathered your items in the move in bin, you will be instructed to exit the garage where you can turn either left or right to find off-site parking located throughout State College. Your items will then be taken to your room by a member of our team so you can ENJOY YOUR NEW HOME!

Fast-Pass Move-In Checklist

We offer Fast Pass move-in options for your convenience. In order to qualify for this option, be sure you've completed all the items listed in the drop downs shown here, including any move in check list items shown in the ResidentPortal. Please note, failure to complete these items ahead of time may result in longer wait times during key pickup. Let's make your move-in process swift and seamless!


On move-in day, we will verify that the full month’s installment, fees, and any outstanding paperwork are complete before giving out keys. Please note that we only accept certified checks; cash and money orders will not be accepted. If you choose to pay online before your arrival, please ensure to bring a copy of the online confirmation. Your first month’s installment is due no later than 08/01/2024. It’s crucial to ensure all fees and your first month’s installment are paid on time to secure your unit and prepare for move-in day.

Resident Portal

As a condition of the Housing Contract, residents are required to carry liability insurance. To satisfy this requirement you have two options - purchase liability insurance and provide proof of coverage to the leasing office or do nothing. If no action is taken, you will be automatically enrolled in the Landlord Liability Protection Program. Please see attached flyer for more detail.

Our property is proud to be pet friendly! Whether or not you are bringing a pet, all residents are required to register with PetScreening even if you do not have a pet. Please click the link below to read more and complete your pet screening application.

Utility accounts are already established in Landlords name for your unit. Make sure you have created your ResidentPortal. Go paperless and go green! Providing your email address will allow you to receive a copy of your bill electronically each month. Statements sent to your email will contain a link that will automatically direct you to ResidentPortal where you can pay your bill.
