Help Us Contribute to The State College Food Bank!

We are all busy with the fall semester, and the staff at The Metropolitan State College are no exception. It can be easy to get caught up in the whirlwind: virtual school, politics, and COVID-related stress.

While we encourage you to practice self-care, it’s also important to give back! For the entire month of November, The Metropolitan State College is hosting a canned food drive for The State College Food Bank. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner alongside them to continue their impact in providing canned goods to the community.

Residents can bring in 5 cans each for a newly designed t-shirt from The Metropolitan State College. While this is a great way for us to connect with our residents and locals, we also take this opportunity to do our part, collecting one can at a time.

The State College Food Bank has been providing service to the community since 1982. Though moving and outgrowing different locations over the years, they are now located on Atherton Street.  Donations are welcome from all, and volunteering is a great chance to give back. The food bank also offers a “client choice” model of distribution. This allows those who receive food to select their own food items. This model has gotten amazing feedback and continues to have great influence. One client said, “I feel like a person.”

The Metropolitan at State College proudly stands behind their mission and invite all of you to help us make a difference with our month-long canned drive.
